Is visiting a college (your potential college) a total waste of time?
Well, this is a tricky question.
If you're going to College A, and College A is in your town, or not too far away - then I see no reason why you shouldn't go and visit.
Seeing the campus, maybe meeting students, faculty and staff would give you a better idea of what that school is like.
However, if you live in another country and you'd need to pay thousands of $$ and you don't have the money, then I say - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
Take a virtual tour, do some internet research and find out more about the college.
A lot of people have posted questions on forums asking if visiting a college will increase their chances of getting admitted. Most people answer no to this question, and I tend to agree with this. But, if you do your research and find out that this is not the case in your school, and you have the resources to plan a college visit, then do so. Good luck!
